April 22-27, 2009 — Anna Abbruzzo and Alain Courchesne Attend Salone Internazionale del Mobile
Based in Milan, this renowned furniture show attracts hundreds of thousands of interior designers and other members of the design world.  It’s is an important launching pad for the latest and most exciting trends from around the world, featuring home and office furniture and accessories for every room, from the kitchen to the bedroom to the bathroom.

Spring 2009 Igloo Design is On the Move!
Igloo Design is moving to a new location on prestigious de la Montagne in downtown Montreal in spring 2009. Our new premises, close to Montreal attractions and luxury retailers and hotels, will offer our clients more space, more convenience and more fabulous design ideas! We look forward to continued success, working with clients to develop innovative design solutions for modern and traditional spaces, including residential and commercial projects such as retail boutiques, corporate offices, hotels, restaurants, condominiums and real estate developments.

September 2008 Grand Opening of Spa Calme
A new Montreal spa, Spa Calme, celebrated its debut with a chic, modern organic look crafted by Igloo Design. Form meets function in a space that combines soothing colours and textures with a smart layout for treatments like pedicures, manicures and massage. It all adds up to atmosphere of total relaxation and total pampering.


Fall 2008/winter 2009 Igloo Design Debuts its Sophisticated Furniture Line
Three select pieces, custom made to Igloo Design’s exacting specifications, are now available to clients. A sleek console table, elegant bar cart and chic X-table are just the beginning of Igloo’s furniture collection.


Summer 2009 Bardelli Canada now available at Igloo Design
Igloo Design is proud to announce that the Bardelli collection is now available to its clients. Known for its witty contemporary patterns on ceramic floor and wall tiles, Bardelli makes a chic addition to any kitchen or bath project.  


Summer 2009 – New Dom Rebel Showroom Designed by Igloo
Igloo Design worked closely with Dom Rebel, an edgy independent men’s clothing label that specializes in fashion-forward jeans and T-shirts by young Montreal designers, to create a “giant closet”
showroom that conveys a hip, professional environment.

Fall 2008/winter 2009 Igloo Design Forms Partnership with Italian Custom Millworker
Custom furniture and cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms and more are now available to Igloo Design clients. Igloo has partnered with Cazzaniga & Cazzaniga, a family-run Italian company with a proud history of fine design and quality workmanship.


Summer 2009 Igloo Design Clients Now Have Access to Fornasetti Products
Fornasetti pieces are design icons, paying tribute to the work of Milan artist Piero Fornasetti. Igloo Design is proud to offer the whole line of these finely detailed pieces, which includes accessories, furniture, tiles, fabric and wall coverings, to complement contemporary and traditional décor.

Owners Lance and Riley of Peak Phyique inc. Personal Training Studio have tackled clients' demands and are expanding into a second location, one that only Igloo Design could surprise us with.

September 27-28 2007 – Anna Abbruzzo and Alain Courchesne Off to IIDEX/NeoCon Canada!
At Igloo Design, we’re committed to staying current on local and international décor trends and innovative new materials and furnishings. We’re attending the IIDEX/NeoCon 2007 exhibition in Toronto.

August 2007 – Anna Abbruzzo Quoted in Canadian House & Home: Living Rooms
Igloo Design’s Anna Abbruzzo shares living-room décor tips in “Necessary Objects”, an article in Canadian House & Home’s Living Rooms issue, on newsstands now. “Wallpaper and textures: these are things people overlook,” says Abbruzzo. “It can make such a difference in a space and can come off when you’re tired of it.” To see a chic use of wallpaper, check out the dining room of a Nun’s Island Condo which Igloo Design decorated.

March 2007 – BBA Financial Group Open Their Chic Montréal Office, Designed by Igloo Design
BBA Financial Group unveiled the cool new interior design of their Montréal office today. The hip, modern loft space, developed by Igloo Design, features an espresso bar, custom tile work and a clever arrangement of offices around a waiting area with sleek Le Corbusier and Diemme furniture.

February 5, 2007 – Salut Bonjour films at Blume, a Hip Floral Shop Designed by Igloo Design
Quebec’s leading morning show, Salut Bonjour!, filmed on location at Blume, an industrial-chic retail spaced designed by Anna Abbruzzo and Alain Courchesne of Igloo Design. With clean and contemporary shelves and floral work stations on view, our interior design of Blume reinvents the floral shop as art gallery – and provides a terrific television location, to boot! January 2007 – Hotel Chic Dental Clinic, Styled by Igloo Design
Abbott & Abbott dental patients will find their appointments a bit more painless, thanks to the interior design talents of Igloo Design. A soothing, organic colour scheme and environmentally friendly materials make this space easy on the eyes and the lungs, too! As followers of LEED principals, Anna Abbruzzo & Alain Courchesne we always make sure that materials such as flooring and wall coverings maximize cleanliness and minimize harmful glues and VOCs.

June 2006 – Igloo Design Graces Cover of Decorhomme magazine
Alain Courchesne’s sleek transformation of an Old-Montréal condo wowed not just the clients, but the editors of Decorhomme magazine, as well. (This is the same condo that earned the 2005 Grohe Winning Designs Award for best kitchen in Canada.) Decorhomme lauds Igloo Design for their humility, patience and ability to work with clients – fundamental aspects of their approach.

December 2006 – Canadian House & Home names Igloo Design in 20 Hot New Designers
In “The Next Wave”, an article in Canadian House & Home, the writer asks, “Who will be the next Brian Gluckstein or Karim Rashid?” The answer: Igloo Design – along with 19 other hot new furniture and interior-design talents. Take a look at some richly detailed residential and commercial décor projects that brought Igloo Design to the magazine’s attention.

June 2006 – Ma Maison Magazine Celebrates Igloo Design’s “Coup de Foudre”
Les idées de ma maison – a Quebec décor magazine that reaches 976,000 readers per issue – describes Igloo Design’s work on a St. Henri bistro as a professional “coup de foudre.” (This is the project on which Anna Abbruzzo and Alain Courchesne fell in love with each other’s work, actually.) The sophisticated style of Les gourmets pressés won a Commerce Design Montréal Grand Prix du Jury award, too.

Spring 2006 – Wall to Wall Magazine Praises Igloo Design’s Transformation of a Nun’s Island Condo
“This smart condo definitely has the “it” factor – that coveted, cozy hotel feel, minus the starkness of yesterday’s ultra-modern spaces.” That’s what Wall to Wall Magazine – Montréal’s only English-language home décor magazine – has to say about Igloo Design’s work on a chic Nun’s Island condo. The elegant spaces features luxe materials, graphic art and iconic modern appointments such as a Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona chair, an Eileen Gray adjustable table and Artemide lighting.

Spring 2005 – Mademoiselle Pinki Opens Westmount Store, Decorated by Igloo Design
How do you appeal to little princesses while at the same time indulging their design-savvy mamans? Hire Igloo Design! At Mademoiselle Pinki in Westmount, we installed sparkly chandeliers to please the girls and added sophisticated black and white details to soothe adult customers and boutique staffers. Other retail interiors that we have designed include Blume, a stunning, modern floral shop.

December 7, 2006 – Alain Courchesne Wins The 2005 Grohe Winning Designs Competition for Best Kitchen in Canada
The stunning, modern design of an Old-Montréal condo kitchen has earned Alain Courchesne the 2005 Grohe Winning Designs Award for best kitchen in Canada. The award recognizes excellence in kitchen design based on aesthetic appeal, design integrity, interaction of design elements and the use of space, colour, and materials. Alain’s winning kitchen features espresso-stained kitchen cabinets, luxe flooring, a painted-glass backsplash and glass-topped floss lights for a sophisticated sparkle.

September 2006 – Luxurious Lachine B and B Opens Today, Featuring Igloo Design interiors
Thanks to the interior-design work of Anna Abbruzzo and Alain Courchesne, the owners of Lachine B and B will be offering an opulent, one-of-a-kind experience for their guests. The house features magnificent fabrics, hand-painted wall coverings, a gold-dipped chandelier and a custom-tiled fireplace, which combine to create a glamorous-yet-warm aesthetic. An al fresco kitchen, pool and Jacuzzi make this an ideal vacation spot during the spring and summer months, too.

June 2004 – Montréal Gazette Lauds Igloo Design’s “St. Henri Bistro With Style.”
Sarah Musgrave, a restaurant reviewer for the Montréal Gazette and author of Resto à Go Go, says the design of Les gourmets pressés is “a site for sore eyes”. As she puts it, “…brick, black and red surfaces…make up the cozy couture of the room.”

June 2004 – Igloo Design’s Work On Les gourmets pressés In Grafika Magazine
The June 2004 issue of Grafika, Quebec’s leading graphic communications magazine, features a write up of Les gourmets pressés, a St. Henri bistro decorated by Igloo Design. The review praises the interior design as retro, but without pretension.

May 31, 2004 – Montréal Gazette Cites Igloo Design in Top 20 Designs for 2004
Igloo Design is included in the Montréal Gazette’s roundup of the 2004 Commerce Design Montréal awards, which applaud the city’s most attractive commercial interiors, such as Les gourmets pressés.

March 2004 – Anna Abbruzzo wins a Commerce Design Montréal Grand Prix du Jury for Les gourmets pressés
Igloo Design’s chic interior design of a St. Henri bistro has won a Commerce Design Montréal Grand Prix du Jury award, which celebrates 20 of the best-looking commercial interiors in the city each year. Anna’s Les gourmets pressés delivers big-impact style in a small space, with a contemporary red and black colour scheme, custom tables and school-house style light fixtures.
