Downtown Luxury
A mere 875-square feet forces an interior designer to get creative. Alain Courchesne rose to the challenge on this Old-Montreal condo and won the 2005 Grohe Winning Designs Competition for best kitchen in Canada as a result. To make the most of the small quarters, Alain transformed a closet and utility room into a powder room off of the kitchen. Espresso-stained kitchen cabinets tie into the wood flooring, cleverly installed at a 45-degree angle to create an illusion of spaciousness. A painted-glass backsplash, glass-topped flos lights and a glass dining-room table add a sophisticated sparkle to the condo, while emphasizing the windows and light. Finally, luxe textures and the occasional pop of red project confidence and warmth. |
